zAMMANIK

Founder & Creative Director ∙ Visual Designer ∙ Cultural Researcher

Zammanik is a Sudanese cultural platform rooted in sonic memory, visual identity, and archival research. The name Zammanik references the Arabic word for time as lived and remembered. Drawing inspiration from vintage Sudan, the platform’s imagery references nostalgic motifs while the pink and yellow logo pays homage to retro Arabic typography.

Zammanik provides displayable anchors of heritage, blending cultural research, nostalgia, and contemporary design to preserve and celebrate Sudanese history, music, and poetry. I serve as the creative director and founder of Zammanik, creating digital designs and providing bite-sized pieces of research on the Instagram about Sudanese musical figures from the 60s-90s. I also founded Zammanik Sounds, a digital archive of music across North & East Africa and Southwest & Southeast Asia, centered on cross-cultural learning and preservation.
